THE SECOND DAY. rUKTHER RESULTS AND NOTES. (Special Reporter.) . . Cartenton, October 24. The Wairarapa P. and: A. Society's thirty-fifth Shew was , coucluded to-dny. Once more the weather was very unfavourable. Heavy showers fell frequently; it was fino only at rare intervals. The ten ten paths were " quagmires, and the rinff hi which the jumping competitions were held was considerably cut about. Nevertheless, the Show was well patvenised by. the public. Only o show ns popular as. Carterton's is, could draw people out in such weather. The parade, which is always a feature at this gatherine. was a really fine spectacle. Tho judging of the horses was comnlcted yesterday. Mr. James Grant, of ~Hawera, who undertook tho judging of the draughts, stated thab.tlie gddinVs were nearly all very good, there wero some fine mare,?, and tho stallions were fair. Tho draught stallions were examined as to their' soundness by State veterinarians before, they were eligible for competition. Only one was rejected. Mrs. ,T. D. Ormond iron the draught stallion championship with Ardnacraig. a Hiree-j-ear-old. colt by Clydebank—Lady Keith. Mr. Arthur Tocker's Lndv Baiu cor is tho champion mare. Mr.' H. Has- . sell, of Hastings, secured tlie hack championship with Jfickey Trie. Somo good cows were shoini in the milking competition. Jlr. E. Eagle's Bil,berry 6th, which won Hie'butter-fat test for purebred cows, gave 321b. of milk on Wednesday evening and 311b. on Thursday morning, with a 5,J tpst. This equals 2-l'i lb. of butter per week.
