Previous shows at Hawcra have demonstrated with wliiifc interest the fixture is looked forward to by breeders, amlthe loiilieamin;; gathering, it is staled, promises to eclipse its predecessors in regard to quality and the number of exhibits in (ho stock sections. Cattle, us usual, ore receiving special attention, and with Iho addition of the New Zealand Jersey Breeders' and tile New Zealand Ayrshire Breeders' A*snciafion's gold champion medals the classes should be particularly attractive. Trophies are freely distributed in all .sections, and the prize list is on a generous scale. Amongst numerous "specials" the solid silver challenge eup presented by the New Zealand Shipping Co., Ltd., is a beautiful one. This cup will go to the exhibitor scoring the greatest number oJ points iu the purebred Ilolstein ami Jersey classes. The champion butter-fat competition will bo of special interest ngntn this year. The committee is pro-, riding capital paddock accommodation for exhibitors. The milk-testing classes open, to farmers' sons and daughters, public and high school students are of educational value, and good entries arc again anticipated.
