ZOOLOGICAL SOCIETY.

The annual meeting of the Wellington Zoological Society was held in the Mayor's room, Town Hall, last evening. 'The Eev. John Ciewes presided, and there were about thirty present.

The report and the balance-sheet (as previously published) were adopted. Officers were elected as follows:—l'atron, his Excellency the Governor, Lord Islington; vice-patron, the Mayor of Wellington, Mr. D. M'Laren; president, Eov. J. Crowes; vice-presidents, Messrs. B. H. Low, 8.A., C. J. Lockwood, W. Janson, W. Jack, E, A. Wright, and E. Eead; secretary aud treasurer, Mr. J. Castle; auditor, Mr. B. H. Chfncheu; council, Eov. ,T. Ward, Mesdames J. Castle, S. H. Underwood, E. A. Wright, .T. Pollock, Winter, Messrs. E. Collie, G. Flux, M. G. Grenside, A. Hobday, jmir., A. E. Hornblow, E. Morrish, J. Newhouse, H. A. Parkinson, 31. A. J. Pollock, S. H. Underwood, E. H. Chincjien. A. B. Parker, W. Martin, J. Crowes, and Brown.

It was resolved to ask the City Council's permission to appeal to the people to put one or two more flamingoes m the Zoo; and to urge the council to get a mate for the brush tnrkey.
