MOHAKA NOTES.
At the present time most of the Mohnka settlers are busy docking. This is particularly ti sheep" district, and verv littlo dairying is done, except for home consumption. There is every prospect of a record lambing percentage in this part, the season having been very favonrnble. On the Kakhriki Station M per cent, has been recorded. All that is needed now is Ihe railway as, under existing circumstances, the farmers here are heavily handicapped by freight. It is understood that'the llawko's Bay orchards, more especially those close to Hustings, have suffered considerably from recent heavy winds. Mr. F. ,T. Ryder, owner of the Kukariki Station, who has been seriously ill for the last four months, returned home recently convalescent. Both he and Mrs. liyder, who accompanied him, received a very cordial reception from the station Hands. llr. Ti. Hutchinson lenves for his new properly, near AVairoa, at an early <lale. Anglers who want good sport and do not mind roughing it should try same of the streams in this district.
