Mr. and Mrs. Pethick Lawrence have quitted the Women's Social and Political Union, owing to a disagreement with Mrs. and Miss Pankliurst regarding- a militant policy. They will, however, continue to co-operate in the general cause.

The Labour Parliamentary Party has declined the request of women Suffragetto adherents to vote against the Franchise Bill, but has decided to press for women's suffrage. WRECKING CRUSADE 'ADVOCATED. Aclarul, Parliamentary Un-der-Secretary for Foreign Affairs, has explained that in making his recent statement, that if the Suffragettes ceased militant tactics a Franchiso Bill would bo introduced, ho was speaking, not for tho Government, but 'for the supporters of woman suffrage.
