It was a very attractive display, not only of plain unci fancy sowing, but of articled of nil descriptions that bad been gathered by the ladies of St. Paul's parish, Thorndon, for their annual sale of work', held in the Sydney Street Schoolroom yesterday and continued to-day. A decided feature of the sale also was the produce stall, which, in addition to some very handsome vegetable-:, was provided with most; delectable home-made jams and marmalade. The RUUtI stall included among its disnlav hand-made frocks for children, lace "anil embroidered work, and much else that was desirable. Side-shows that had been provided were electric shocks under the mnmiupiiieiit of Miss Mestnyer. and for-tune-tolling by Mrs. Gibbons. There was also a competition for home-made cakes and scoMs, the prize-winners being: Mis* Ruth Howe, for sponge; Miss Andrews for scones; Miss Smith (Tinakori lioad) or pound cake and sponge roll.
