A rather severe earthquake shock was experienced hero at .1.35 o'clock this afternoon. Napier, October 16. A prolonged nnd somewhat severe shock of earthquake was felt throughout this district at 3.3J o'clock this afternoon. No damage is reported. Woodville, October 16. Two heavy earthquake shocks wero exporiencod at 3.35 p.m. to-day. They each , lasted some seconds. f - Glsborne, October 16. A long sustained earthquake shock wae felt at 3.31 p.m. to-day. The direction woe east and west. Palmcrston North, October 16. Two heavy shocks of onrthqusye occurred at 3.34 p.m. to-day. The shocks folowed each other rapidly. The total dieturbaneo lasted three minutes.
