A GREAT HOLSTEIN RECORD.
' VALDESSA SCOTT 11. Hardly lias one Holstcin-Fricsian cow established a production record than it is surpassed by a yet greater record. Not many-months ago. American flics announced tliat Tontine Lady Korndyke had won the crown in the seven niul thirtyday divisions, with the great productions of 30,'1221b. fat' from GOl.'ilb. milk in .seven days, and 125.0J-llb. fnt from 2196.7 lb.milk'in 30 days!. Now, it is reported that she must stand aside to make room for Villdessa Scott 11, with the .much greater productions' of 33.51b. fat from G'J-liGlb. milk in seven days, and 132.3881b. fat from 2!):!3.!)lb. milk in •30 SlnyS. These yields are so large that it causes one to, wonder how any cow can produce them; yet immense as they are, no doubt fn due time some other and greater Holstein cow will surpass •them. Yaldessa Scolt II is in no'way closely related in blood lines to the cows ■ for liianv years'prominently before the public, and the discovery of so wonderful « cow among the 'outsiders goes far to strengthen the claim that..there arc plenty of great cows in tile rank and file of the Ilolstoin legions, ivhicli cows can.only.be brought under'notice by the test.
