RECORD GATHERING EXPECTED. Durinj: Ihe past twelve months., a vigorous l.uildins programme has been sue-t'es.-fiill.v accomplished, and the appointments at tho Carterton Show-ground will more than favourably compare witli those in other, parts of tho'Dominion. From past experience, and in order to popularise tho show, wit h -stock exhibitors,, so'Cietv lids' 'determined upon two 'tjungs. to provido shelter in the event: of wet weather, and to arrange, the pens , more systematically for various classes.-- Some idea of the shelter now provided for stock .may be gauged from tho fact that there are. now 1-12 coverecl-in stalls for purebred cattlo and milkers, over 30 milk bails, a double row of; draught horse stalls. 12 loose-boxes for .draught.and thoroughbred stallions, ami about 70 pens for pigs. Practically ev'ery 'class of stock, with the sole exception: of fat cattle, is thus provided v>'itti covering, against any kind of .weather." 'l'\ro .line sheep pavilions have alsa bevn erected at a cost of .over .£3(10. ■ Each of.these is.lliSft. long by 35ft.wide, providing splendid covering for 5-10 sheep pons.

There, has been every reason for the committee and stewards to feel pleased •at the entries received. Many new-herds and flocks. not brought to the show in Vl'airarapa before, will be represented .and will be very keen, espe.cit\!J.v; in»the..da:ry-;catt!<y TheiHol;tein Cattle--Breeders' Association having donated their, North Island championships to tho AVairarapa for this year, the class will make a splendid representation of the breed. ■ .

Amongst the novelty attractions for People's Day is the pigeon race, for which there are 600 entries. This event should provide .' a magnificent spectacle, 'when the. whole of these birds'are releas-ed-from the loft -simultaneously. Then there is Ilia propoSe'd aeroplane flight over tlib' |,'round during the afternoon. This event should to responsible for hundreds of visitors to the show. A record attendance!; is anticipated.
