CONVICTS BREAK GAOL.

TOWN IN STATE OF TERROR. By Teleirranli—Press Association—Copyrleht New York, October 13. Nineteen convicts revolted at the. Rawlins Penitentiary, Wyoming, and escaped after a brisk fight with the guards. Nine were captured. The town is in a state of terror, and tho populace is under arms. A rioted desperado commands the convicts, who threaten vengeance if attempts are made to recapture them, CITIZENS FIGHTING THE ESCAPEES. (Rec. October 14, 11.10 p.m.) New York, October 14. The guards are locked in tho Rawlins Penitentiary, with the mutinous prisoners, and are trying to prevent wholesale gaol-breaking. Armed citizens are waiting an attack by escaping convicts. It is rumoured that several guards and convicts have been killed. A citizens' posse is fighting the escapees on the hills. t Two men have been killed, a nd one badly wounded. Two convicts have recaptured. Troops are asked for.
