FEILDING NEWS.

Dr. M'Cnllum, of Fcilding, who has just undergone an operation at the Palmerston Hospital, is mailing a rapid'recovery. Mr. A. D. Thomson, S.M., was.yesterday afternoon called on in Feilding to decide a case in which M'Lennan . Bios., farmers, of Halcombo, proceeded against S. Burrow as being the owner of two dogs which had worried their sheep. Special damages totalling .£ll were claimed, and i2O general damages for interference with lambing. After hearing evidence, tho magistrate said that ho had not the slightest doubt that the two dogs had worried the sheep on one of tho two days concerned. With regard to the general damage, some worrying had evidently been done by other dogs. Ho would allow £6 special damages and £10 general damages. Costs totalling i! 5 19s. Gd. were allowed plaintiffs.

The Mayor (Mr. Goodbohcre) said at Thursday night's meeting of the Borough Council that, in view of the resolution passed at the meeting of the-Chamber of Commerce, the council was prepared to seriously consider tho question of installing electric light in Feilding. The council agreed to his suggestion that a special meeting should bo held, and it was decided to invite Mr. Tolley, of Wellington, to attend the meeting, and explain his scheme.
