EMIGRATION QUESTIONS, By Telceraph—Press Association—CoDJuieht London, October 10. The Imperial Trade Commission will occupy a fortnight in investigating the question of emigration in. relation to overseas development. Mr. Huntar, of Sydney, and Mr. T. E. Donne, New Zealand emigration, representative, were examined, and the representatives of Western Austialia, Queensland,' and South Australia will testify next week. LICENSING OP EMIGRATION AGENTS. (Kec. October 11, 11.10 p.m.) London, October 11. Sir Joshua Taverner, Agent-General of Victoria, in his evidence beforo tho Imperial Trade Commission, gave details of the Victorian immigration policy and system of selecting emigrants. He favoured tho creation of an Immigration Department under the Secretary of State for the Colonies, and advocated the licensing of emigration agents nnd societies. At present there was much misrepresentation and deception.
