Viox-Regal. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Asche lunohed with his Excellency the Governor and LadyIslington yesterday. Lieutenant Pennell, R.N., of the Antarctic exploration ship Terra Nova, returned from the French Pass by the Hinemoa yesterday, after having completed a survey of that portion of the coast. Captain Taylor, who has been representing the underwriters at the wrecked Tyser steamer Star of Canada at Gisborne, was a passenger from Wellington to London by tho Aorangi to-day. Mr. Carlyle B. Robertson, for many pears connected with the Wellington staff of Messrs. Sargood, Son, and Ewen, Ltd., and latterly as accountant, who went to Sydney in April last on a health trip, has decided to settle in New South Wales. He will be joined by Mrs. Robertson and daughter, who will leave for their new home by the 6.5. Maunganui on Friday next. The Hon. J. Barr, M.L.C., was a passenger by the Maori ' for Lyttelton. last evening. Mr. Wade, Leader of the New South Wales Opposition has decided to take a long holiday from his political duties in order to recover from the effects of an attack of influenza.—Press Association.
