The stock came forward in good condition considering the winter is just over, and these wo submitted to a large attendance of buyers from all parts of the district. Abraham nnd Williams, Ltd., report on their Pahiatua stock sale this week as follows:—We offered a good yarding of sheep and a heavy yarding of cattlo to a .large attendance. Tliero is still an unsatisfied demand for sheep, which sold well; cattle also met with a good sale, especially good dairy sorts. A large portion of the younger cattle were turned out unsold, vendors' anticipations being slightly above graziers' values. Messrs. Williams and Kettle, Ltd., have to report having held a successful clearing sale on October 8 ou account of Mr. W. J. Wall, Maharahara, who has sold his farm, when they offered the whole of his stock and contracting plant to a. good attendance of local and outside buyers. Bidding was brisk throughout, and everything was disposed of at. satisfactory figures. Hoggets, mixed, 12s. fid.; ewe hoggets. Farm implements, furniture, etc., also quitted at even prices. Messrs. Abraham and Williams. Ltd., report:—At Waikanae yesterday we had a small yardiug of sheep and a good yarding of cattle. All stock sold well at auction, and. with the exception of one pen of steers, we sold the whole of our yarding at the following prices:—Ewes and lambs, <Bs. 4(1.; forw-ard wethers. 18s.
