Wedding in SI, Mark's, St. Mark's Church had boon beautifully docoruted yesterday afternoon for tho marriage of Miss Anne Alison, daughter of Mr. ami Mrs. F. Anson, now in England, but formerly of Piraki Station, South., Island of New Zealand, ami Captain Lstcourt, 2nd Dragoons (Kovat Scots Greys), A.D.C. to his Excellency tho Governor. An archway of pink (lowers and trails of foliage had been erected °. vc '' chancel steps, and the chancel itself had been decorated with arums, irises, and palms. Tho service was choral, ?r >1 °^ le ' a^n n clergyman was the Kev. A^' cc, y- The bride entered tho church with Lord Islington, and as they walked ;>P Jfe "isle the liymn, "Lead 'Us, Heaven, ly lather," was sung by the choir, followed later in tho service bv "0, Perfect Love. Miss Anson (sister of the bride) and the Hon. JoaD Dickson-Poynder were the bridesmaids, and the best man was Captain M'Dongall, A.D.C. Ihe bride, who was given, awav bv his Excellency, wore a gown of soft 'ivory satin, graceful and very simple, with transparent yoke and sleeves nnd wid-3 pearl-studded belt. A Brussels Jaco veil that had been worn by many generations of brides in her family was caught in with a coronet of orango blossoms, and ■ she carried a bouquet of white flowers nnd maidenhair fern fastened with long satin streamers. I Hiss Alison was in a gown of pale lilac channelise and ninon, with sash of violet ribbon and whito Leghorn hat, with heliotrope ribbon and. shaded pink roses at tho side. Sho carried a bouquet of flowers tn correspond • in colour with her frock. Tho Hon. Joan Dickson-Poynder wove a very delicately-shaded pink'frock with fichu of white lace and wido whito hat trimmed with pink ribbon and'a cluster of pink roses. Her bouquet was of pink roses with long pink ribbon streamers. Mrs.-"Bnberts, aunt of tho bride, wore a dress of hyacinth blue. Satin draped with ninon and lace, and a black liat massed with plume 3 the samo shade as her gown. .After tho ceremony a reception was held by their Excellencies at Government' House. The guests were received on their arrival by Lord and Lady Islington in tho outer drawing-room, anil then passed on into the inner room, where tho bride and bridegroom received their congratulations and good 'wishes. Tho upper portion of the ball room was enclosed with curtains, and here it was that the health of Captain and Mrs. Estcourt was proposed. b.v his Excellency, and refreshments served. White irises were arranged upon tho long table, and ivhite flowers were everywhere'to be seen in the other rooms. Lady Islington wpre a gown of soft black satin, panelled in. front with white, over which was worn an overdress of black- lace, with knots of black velvet ribbon. ■ Her wide black hat was trimmed ivitli a beautiful white ostrich feather, md her ornaments wero a diamond neckhice, with one of pearls. Miss Stapleton--otton wore a gown of pearl grey charmouse and a black plumed hat. Mrs. juise was also in grey with a small prey nut massed with grey ostrich plumes. Wedding in St. John',s. >. quiet wedding took place at St. John's Church on Wednesday afternoon, whoa Miss Myra Hill, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Hill, of this cilv, was married in Jlr. Robert I!. On-, second son of Mr. Hubert Orr, of Lower Hutt. The bride- was attended Ijv her sister, Miss May Hill, mid J Iks' Mure I'lillimiii. Mr. T. Orr and Mr. ,1. C. Hell were groomsmen. The eeremiinv was perfornied by the Kov. Dr. (i'ibb. Mr. &dighan Burnett presiding at the organ. A reception was iifferwnnN held ut the re=idenre of the bride's parents, Marauia Crescent.
Wedding in St. Peter's. .A pretty wedding took place quietly at St. Peter's Church on Wednesday, when Miss' Jessie Evans, youngest daughter of Mr.. and Mrs. H. R. Evans, of 'Webb Street, was married to Mr. Frank Sinclair, second sou of Mr. Robert Sinclair, of Majoribanks Street. The Rev. Archdeacon Harper performed the ceremonv. The bride was attended by Miss Winnie Collet!, and was given away by her brother-in-law, Mr. 0. T. Evans. Slio was gowned in white charmense, trimmed with French blonde 'lace and pearl embroideries, and wore a pearl Juliet cap over fhe bridal veil. A shower bouquet of white flowers was carried. . The bridesmaid woro, hailstone- muslin, trimmed with lace and embroidery, and a saxe blue tagel hat, trimmed with pink roses. She carried a pink bouquet. Mr. P. Fitzgerald was tho best man. A reception was afterwards held at 59 Webb Street. The bride's mother w'as in a black silk voile gown, trimmed with black silk embroidered insertion, and a grey Tagel hat. Her bouquet was of" lilac. Mr. and Mrs. C Odlin leave for Invercargill this evening, and will be, away for about a month. A meeting of ladies interested in tho formation of a Nursing Division of tho St. John Ambulance Brigade in Wellington South, was held in St. James's Schoolroom lust evening. A resolution that a division should be formed was carried unanimously, and all those present undertook to enrol intending members. Any ladies holding eertifieut.es and wishing to join the proposed nursing divisi.n aro asked to hand their names to Mrs. J. P. Luke, Hiropi Street. A class for first aid will be held in connection with this movement iu about a fortnight's time, and a number of names were handed in towards tho formation of this class. Any lady wishing to join may give their names to Mr. Avery. .■
