AUCKLAND EXHIBITION.

HELP FROM THE POST OFFICE. An American scheme of advertising will bo used in connection with the Auckland Exhibition, the Postmaster-General liaving consented to assist the Exhibition Commissioners in this matter yesterday, he was interviewed by Mr. George Elliott (president of Iho Exhibition), and Mr. W. 1?. Holmes (secretary), accompanied by Mr. Dickson (M.1 , , for I'arnell), and he acceded to their request that during tho three l'lonths prior to the opening of the Exhibition in December next year nil letters posted in Auckland should bo marked with stamp-cancelling marks, announcing tho date of tho Exhibition opening, as was dono in tho case, of the St. Louis Exhibition. During Uieir. visit, to Wellington Messrs.' Klliolfcaud Hblih'cs have urged tho Government to make a display in tho Exhibition, /fhe Ministers individually expressed their sympathy with the proposal, which will presently bo considered by Cabinet.
