THE BROTHERHOOD.

.A meeting of the Brotherhood was hold in the New Theatre yesterday. Mr. T. W Ufird presided. Prayer was led by Mr. John Kershaw, and .Mrs. M'Fadgen sang ' Ora Pro NobisV The Hon. T. Buxt-on delivered an address, the subjeot being Men That Have Got On-Merit or Luck.' He opened by stating that several leading American merchants had asserted that the first principle in 'business was integrity and good moral character. He went on to say that a man might not make a fortune, but the man who failed was, • after all, the man who needed our •sympathy. And what the world needed most of all was honesty and integrity. In both employer and employee the tendency of the times was to make better conditions, and business will no doubt eventually bo conducted on more .equitable lines. At the close a vote of thanks was accorded the speaker.
