STRANDED S.S. GERTIE.
DISCHARGE AND PUMPING. Discharge of the coal cargo of the disabled steamer Gertie was proceeded with on Saturday, punts being engaged to convey it from the point in the Manawatu River where she has settled, up to l?oxton Wharf, A' centrifugal pump, which had been installed, has managed to cope with the inflow of water, and, as soon as the, coal is discharged the Gertie will bo put on the "hard 1, in the Manawatu River for examination and temporary repaiTS. Sho will then be brought to Wellington to be placed on the Patent Slip about .Wednesday.
