PRODUCERS' ASSOCIATION.
HOME AGENT'S REPORT. The New JX'alaiul Producers' Association met in Wellington yesterday afternoon to' hear the report of its representative, .Mr. F. J. Shelton, who has just returned from London, where he has been carrying on negotiations with the .Port of London Authority in connection with the concentration of the New Zealand frozen produce trado nud the granting of better facilities for handling and storing the produce at tho Port. Mr. Shelton dealt at length With tho position of affairs as he found tlipm on his return to London ill April last, when the Authority decided to proceed with certain improvements at tho Albert. Dock, and detailed the circumstances which resulted in the London meeting, of importers and others interested, approving these proposals. Mr. Shelton is of opinion that these suggested improvements, do not meet the needs of the New Zealand trade, thoujh even these would not have been promised but for tho efforts of tho association. Tho Authority has not yet started these improvements and it appears that before, they are completed they will be required to take the place of buildings which are rapidly becoming unsuitable -for the trade, so that to make adequate provision for our produce, something more will'be required. Tho Port of London Authority still professes its readiness to make the South Dock available, but whether or not this -will bo done depends upon the determination of tho producers to bring influence to bear to have this accomplished. Further developments in other directions are expected;
