NEW PICTURE THEATRE.
a_ The People's Picture Palace, is the 'next theatre to which people will be invited to attend. Ths new theatre, which will be ready for opening during the first week in November, is situated in that central city block between Jlanners Street and Old Customhouse Quay (on which latter thoroughfare it abuts). The main entrance will be a 15ft. arcade opening on to Manners Street, next' to Begg's music warehouse. This entrance extends back for about 40ft. before the hall is reached, and is to be decorated in a planner calculated to attract. The hall is 05ft. lons by 35ft. in width, and is ventilated from the western side (where there is a sft. ri&ht-of-way) and the apex of the roof. The roof, which is lined with sheet asbestos, is supported by light steel principals (exposed), strengthened by arches of railway iron encased in plaster.
