4 ANIMALS OF DOUBTFUL HEALTH. Last night tlio, City Council received the following report from the- llesorves Committee :— "Tho committee have to report that, in order to keep tho cost of the maintenance and upkeep of the Zoo within the amount allocated this year for that purpose, they have instructed tho curator not to receive any further gifts for tlio Zoo unless the same shall have been accepted by the committee." It is understood that this is to meet a somewhat awkward situation which has arisen through tho introduction to the Zoo of Animals which are of rather doubtful health.
