HUTT AND PETONE NEWS.

(From Our Bpccial Correspondent.) 1 HUTT COURT. ■ The monthly sitting of the tower Hutt Court was held yesterday. Dr. M'Arthur, S.M., was on the Bench, and also Messrs. J. Cudby and J. Wilkins, J.P.'s. Patrick Walsh was charged under the Foods and Drugs Act, 190S, with selling adulterated milk. Sir. Hacassey, of the Crown Law Office, appeared for the pro■secutioD. John Thomas Hopkins (Health Officer) deposed that on August 29 last he secured a sample of defendant's milk, and analysed it. He. found it to be containing 30.6 per cent, of water. Defendant, who did not appear, was convicted and fined .£3, analyst's fee 10s. 6d., solicitor £1 Is., and Court costs 11s. Seven Territorials, viz., Horace H. King, Charles H. Osborno, Harry Summers, Robert Hayes, John Clout, George Cunningham, and Ernest W. Judd, were charged with that on the night of August 27 they did.obstruct a parade and wereinsubordinate. All the defendants entered Sleas of not guilty. Sergeant-Mnjor Lyon eposed that defendants were an unruly lot, particularly King and O.sborne. Dei'ondants were fined £2, with costs 75., with the exception of King and Kyan, who were fined £3.

Fran): Nooney made application for a prohibition order against his father, F. Nooney. 'The applicant stated that defendant had used abusive languago when drunk at home. Mr. Jackson, who appeared for defendant, contended that Nooucy was a man of good character, and it was not a case for an order. The application was refused. Judgmont by default was givon for plaintiff in tho following civil cases:— Gcorgo Bradley v. Violet Fernandez, ,£3 Os. 7d., costs 65.; Wise and Deeblo v. H. M. Jones, XI 7s. Bd., costs 75.; M'Menanien Bros. t. E. Thompson, £3 6s. 3d. In the judgment summons caso George Bradley v. Edward Johnson, claim £7 Bs., defendant stated that ho was getting £3 10s. per week, had a wife and four children to support, and was paying 17s. Gd. a week for rent. Hβ could make no offer. No order was made-.

In tho notion George Bradley v. John Hudson, claim ill 12s. (id.; Hudson deposed that his average earnings were .£2 os. per week, and he had to support a. wife and two children. The Bench refused to make an order.

PETONE COURT. At the Petono Police Court yesterday rooming, before Messrs. Motlics and Coles, Justices of the Peace, Cissy Somervilln, for be-iug drunk and travelling in (ho train without a ticket, was convicted and discharged, and ordered to pay Is. Id. train faxo. James Gibbons, for assaulting a Chinese, was fined 55., in default 2-1 hours' imprisonment.
