The Prime Minister, acknowledging .-e* ceipt of the resolution of the Pahiatua Honorary Territorials' Association drawing the Government's attention to letters on the subject of compulsory military training appearing in the "Manchester Guardiim" and "Daily News," states that he will lie pleased to confer with his colleague, the Hon. Minister for Defence, on the subject. A meeting of ladies convened by the Mayoress in response to Mrs. Godlcy's appeal was held yesterday afternoon lo consider a proposal to raise funds to provide la-lies' prizes to be shot for by tho Senior Cadets. The project was taken up enthusiastically, and it was decided to canvass tho town.
