Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report on their fortnightly Fate, held at Eketahuna yesterday, as follows :-Owing to the rough weather no sheep came forward. Our entry in cattle, however, was well above advertised numbers, find wo sold practically our whole yarding' at prices well up to those of late rates. Heifers in calf, backward, £5 103. to £6; dairy cows, £6. £7. to £8 12s. 6d.; yearling heifers, poor. £2 133. 6d. to £4: store cows. £4; empty heifers, £4 to £4 55.; bulls, £2 ICa. to £A. Messrs. Springing cows and . heifers were in good demand. ln-> ferior ewes and lambs made to 15s. Id.: yearling heifers, £3 IDs.: springing heifers, £7 2s. 6d.: springing cows, £{; empty store cows, £2 10s. to £3 Is.; wcaner heifers, £2 95.; weaner steers, £2 2s. ..The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. report:—At our Levin Eale yesterday we offered a fair yarding of cattle to a full attendance of buyers. Bidding was keen throughout, and under the hammer we disposed of the hulk of our entry at. satisfactory prices., We sold fat cows (light weights) to £6 17s. 6d.; fat heifers, to £f> 7s. 6d.: yearling', heifers; from £2 l£s. to £3; 18-month to two-year heifers, from £4 to £4 75.; springing heifers, to £4 3s. 6d.; store cows, £3 10s. to £4. Mr. Newtba King reports:—For my fortnightly sale, in ( the...Stratford,, yards on Tuesday, cattle' "came - forward to full advertised numbers. " The attendance of the public, whilst not so large as al recent sales, was good, buyers being present in good numbers from all parts of Taranaki and lVanganui. Yearlings were in much better inquiry. Good store cows sold very Teadily. , Several good pens of bullocks were-offered, but with, two exceptions did not reach tho reserves, Host of the stock yarded, with the exception of some bullocks, were cleared during the day at the following rates:—Best yearling steeTs, £2 16s. to £2 18s. 6d.; good, £2 4s. to £2 lis.; had coloured, £1 55.; be?t yearling grade heifers, £3 3s. 6d. to £S 95.: 'others, £2 <s. to £2 17s. 6d.; empty. There was a very heavy entry in the dairy pens, and an excellent inquiry throughout, at the following rates:—Dairv cows, on account of Mr. E. L. Lyford, Whangamomona, from £6 10s. to '£8 155.; aged, £2 12s. 6d. to £5 55.; bulls, £7: on account, of Mr. S. Pitt, springing heifers. £7 ss. t/i £10; ,on account, of Mr. It. H.
