WORKERS' COMPENSATION.
RECIPROCITY WITH NEW SOUTH WALES. Tho Prime Minister yesterday received a letter from the Hon. J, M'Gowen (Prime Minister of New South Wales) in reply to a letter in which Mr. Massey had suggested a reciprocal arrangement between New jSeaiand and New South Wales in regard ™ tho domicile provisions in tho Workers' Compensation Acts of tho two countries. Ml'. M'Gowen agrees to the proposals advanced by tho New Zealand Prime Minister, and states that legislative proposals will ho introduced in tho New South Wales Parliament to make tho administration of compensation to workers reciprocal as botween New Zealand and New nouth Wales. The existing Workers' Compensation Act in this country gives tho Government power to enter into agreements of tho character indicated. The effect of tho agreement will bo that wheil a worker is injured or killed in New Zealand, his dependents will bo entitled to recover compensation although they are domiciled in New South Wales. Similarly the dependents of a worker injured or killed in New Sout'h .Wales will bo entitled to compensation though they are domiciled in New Zealand.
