Weddinfl in the Basilica. Yesterday afternoon, in the Basilica, Hill Street, tho weuding took placo oi Miss Mattio Putnam, aauglitar ox Mrs, Putnam ,of "i'airview," Northland, and , r, ,, ±lflrr y Stott, youngest son ot Mr. K. L. Stott, of Bexiey ileath, Kent, England, 'iho Rev. Father Hicsson perlormed. the ceremony, and Miss Putnam (the bride's sister) played the organ, tho wedding music Irom "Lolicngrm" accompanying their entrance into the Basilica, and Mendelssohn's "Wedding March" their departure. Tho bride, who was given away by her brother, wore b. charmingly simple I and graceful gown of ivory cliarmouso. i'lio crossover bodi'co was draped on one sido with Limerick lace (a present from Ireland), and panels of the lace draped the front of the gown and fell over the long panel train. Tho net veil was caught in with clusters of orange blossoms, and sue carried long trails of beautiful olematis. Her gilt from tho bridegroom was a diamond ring. Miss Barbara Putnam attended her sist , a , s kf'desmaid, and wore a pretty frock of bluo charmeuse, trimmed with ruehlngs of itself, and a . large putty-coloured tagel hat, with blue tulle and a bluo ostrich plume. Her bouquet was of flamecoloured flowers, and she wore her present irom tho bridegroom, on aquamarine pendant, and ,i pair of aquamarino earrings to match, given her by tho bride. ~ M' - - Georgo INathan was tho besi man. Mrs. lutnam wore a.gown of black satin, veiled inth black and whito striped ninon, a , ce , s . cai % aijd a black hat with black and whito ostrich plumes. Her bouquet was of violet-coloured anemones. Miss Putnam 'was in a frock of floral silk, with an overdress of saxe blue fisher • not, and a black hat with saxo .bluo ostrich plumes. Miss Stella Putnam was in rose pink, with pointed yoko of Valen- _ ciounes lace, ana a black hat wreathed § with de;p cream roses; Miss Ruth Putfy, flani, frock of brodorio Anglaise, and burnt a 6traw hat with scarlct poppies. New Plymouth Wedding. On Soptcmbar 18 a -pretty wedding took place quietly at the residence of Mr. and 1 "Waybro/*"' Vogeltown, Aew Plymouth, when Mr. J. Johnston, head Government grader for New Plymouth, was married to Miss Winifred Birch, youngest daughter of tho late Mr. IG. Baynes Birch,' of Wellington. The Rev. J. W. Burton conducted the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her uncle, Mr. H. J. Williams, of Wellington, woro a gown of whito crops do chine with mechlin lace and silver not, and tiny flower knots embroidered on the " draped skirt. With it was worn a veil land orange blossoms, and she carried a shower bouquet of white flowers. Her littlo niec«, Miss Bona BenbOw, was bridesmaid, and wore whito silk trimmed with Indian laco and a silken girdle. Her whito crinoline hat lined with whito silk was prettily trimmed with ribbons, and she carried a, pink floral basket. Mr. .Alec Johnston, of Makatawa, was best man. The wedding scrvice was performed : in the drawing-room, which had been dea corated with clematis, daffodils, narcissi, peach blossoms, and other spring flowers. After tho ceremony, afternoon tea was 1 (served in the dining-room, nnd tho usual 1 toas-ts wero proposed and drunk. A Masterton Wedding. The wedding took place in Mastertoi recently of Miss Elsie Fisher, youngesi daughter of Mr. H. Fisher, of Napier but now of Masterton, and Mr. Porcj Dyett, of the Survey Department, Wcl r lington. Tho ceremony wa"s performed bj tho Rev. 11. Williams, in St.'Matthew'; Church. A small dance, lasting from half-past 8 till 12, was given by his Excellency tho Governor at Government House last evening.
