(9m in.), "-ecured t.ho second fastest time (shr. 22min. 27sec.). The winner, J. Sutherland, of Opawa, is 21 years of age. He started in the races of 1909 and 1910, being 011 the 45iuin. and 27nun. marks respectively, but he had bad luck. Regarding the present race he said that he rode with Cook throughout. The ride was solid nnd tho roads in parts wove a bit loose. Tho last bit on the grass was a tough struggle. 11. G. Cook, who roile in the race for the first time, finished just behind the winner. He said that the ride was tough nnd the toads in patches pretty bad, so that, very often, it was necessary to pick his way carefully. , "It was too solid for me in tho first hali, tv.as the remark of J. F, Prebble. ivho finished third, "but I stuck to them. Tho roads wore pretty good and the race pretty solid." 11. G. Henderson (Wanganni), the fastpst rider, has been riding for eight years and last rear, he obtained the third fastest time. Tn 1910 ho sustained puncture*, jnd hi 3 chanoe was spoilt.
