LAWN TENNIS.
THE WELLINGTON CLUB. The' annual meeting of members of tho Wellington Lawn Tenni9 Club was held at tho Town llnll on Tuesday niirhfc. Mr. 11. P. P. Blundcll presiding. • The annual report and balance-Bheot were adopted. A very satisfactory condition of affairs was disclosed by the report. Tho statement of receipts and expenditure attached showed receipts .£2lB lis. 3d., expenditure .£291 12s. 6d., which with tho balance from last year loft a balanco to bo' carried forward of .£l2 10?. 4d. Amongst the items of expenditure, which was exceptionally heavy, was the sum of .£6O, which has been repaid to dcbentiTre-hold-ers; .£32 3s. 9d. for top-dressing and repairing tho courts, now in first-class order; and '-C 25 fis. 3d. for Tates covering a. period of one and a half years. During tho season electric light was installed in tho pavilion. Tho committee propose to use «£2f> of the balance in hand to repay debentures due by the elub, thus reducing the club's indebtedness in this direction to ,C 135, Tho membership of the club for the season was:—Active. Si men and 39 ladies; honorary, 7; and winter, 10. . ' On the motion of Mr. Jeffery, it was decided to alter Rule 13 so as to rednoe the subscription .for gentlemen to J22 12s. Tho application of tho Pahiatitt Clul for the provincial championship tourna ment of tho coming season was reform to the management committee. Tho trophies won during last sea=or were presented to tho winners.
