With the exception of two heifers and a bull we sold every line und?r the hammer a,t good prices. Quotations:— Yearlings (small), 265. to 3<te.: others, £3 3s. to £2 125.; yearling heifers (small), £2 13s. to £2 165.; two-year "lieifeTß, £3 12s. to £4 75.; forward empty heifers, £4 Bs.; springing heifers, £5 to £7; old cowfl, 30s. to ; store .cows, £2 10s. to £3 95.; forward cows, £3 14s. 6d. to £4 45.; fat cows, £5 10s. to £6 155.; aged bulls, £4 la. 6d.; young bulls, £2 to £4. Pigs: Aged eows, in pig, £2 to £2 15s. Messrs. James Macintosh and Co. report I on their Waipoua sale as follows:—A good yarding of sheep and cattle, well above I advertised numbers, came' forward to a good attendance of buyers. Bidding under the hammer was keen for all good eorki of sheep, but low-conditioned hoggets were more dull of sale. Fat ewes, 18s.; good forward ewos, 13s. to, 14s. 6d.; ewes, with ICO per cent, black-face lambs, 245. 4d.; other sorts, 16s. 9d.; good hoggeta, 14e. 7d,; blackface hoggets, lis. to 12s. Id.; cull ewes. 95.; dairy cows, £5 to £6; springing heifers, £5 10s. to £6 6d.; late calvers, £4 10s. to £4 155.: store cows, 3Cs.,to 705.; pearling heifers, 60s. to 655/ ADDINGTON STOCK MARKE'I. (By Telegraph.—Press A6sociation.) Chrlstchurch, September 25. At the Addington live stock market to day, there were fair entries of stock and a good attendance. Fat cattle were a shadr. easier. The fat sheep eale opened at ratea -soraewhat below those of last week. Fat lambs sold well, and store sheep brought quite up to. late rates. Fat pig 6 showed • little improvement in values. Store cMtl* were again in keen demand! Tltq yarding of store sheep was'again small, and consisted principally of hoggets, the balaiice being made up of two or three pens of wethers and a couple of pens of merino wothens. Hoggets: Ewes, inferior to medium, 15s. 6d. to 17s. 7d.; wethers, medium 14s. 9d. to 15s. Bd.; wethers, forward four and six-tooth sorts, 20s. 4d.; two and four tooth, IBs. 9d.; two-tooth (small), 16s. 3d.; and merinos, 14s. 9d. to 15s. 7d.: ewes, in low- condition, with lambs, 9e. 3d, to 10s. 9d., all counted; cullj, Bs.; two-tooth, back wdrd, In lamb, 18s. ' Fortr-four fat lambs were penned, these bolng mostly well grown and in nice condition, and sold freely, the best sorts making 20s. to 255. 3d.; smaller, 12s. fid. to 17s. 6d. There was a larger entry of fat sheep than last week, and the general quality was good. The bulk 'were composed of crossbred and half bred wethers and several lino? of raerfno wethers. The market opened a little easier than was the case last week and several graziers, who wore operating, took any suitable lines within their limits of price. Prime heavy butchers' bhecp were somewhat easier, but medium woight (especially the class that attracted the attention of graziers) and also ewos sold well up to last week's rate 3. The range of prices was:—Extra prime wethers, to 265. 3d.; prime, 21s. to 255.'; others, 19s. 6d. to 205.'6 d.; shorn; 15s. Bd. to 16s. 9d.; extra prime ewes, to 293.; prime, 18s. to 225. lOd.; others, 15s, "9d. to 17s. 6d.; merino wethers, 17e. to 2Ss. 6d.; hoggets. 17s. 6d. to 20s. 6d. The fat cattle penned comprised 178 head and the yarding included some exceptionally fine cattle.' The pride of place rested with Mr."George Gerard, of Bnowdon, who obtained £20 10s. a very fine bullock The demand, however, showed an easing tendency. Beef realised 275. 6d. to 3te. 6d. per 1001b., according to quality. Steers brought £B'to £11'17s, Gd.; extra, to* £20 155.; heifers, £7 ss. to £10 IDs.; extra, to £14 10s.; cows, £5 10s. to £8 10s.; extra, to £12.123. 6d. There was a good yarding of store cattle, which'* met with keen competition for all descriptions, yearlings made £2 ss. to £2 175.-6 d.; fifteen and eighteen-months sorts. £3 9s. to £3 12s. 6d.; two-year steers, £>5 7s. 6d.; two-year heifers. £4 9g. to £4 lis.; throe-year heifers, £6 155.; and dry cows, £2 10s. to £5. There was a fair entry of dairy cows. The yarding, however, included very few' good animals, the bulk being, poor. For the better sorts there was free demand,-and the prices ranged from £4 to £9 15s. Fat pigs were represented by a niedoum entry. Choppers realised £3 10s. to £6 10s.; heavy bnconors, 655. to 745,; lighter sorts, 555. to 625. 6d.; equivalent to SM. to 5Jd. per lb. Large porkers brought 465. to 525., and smaller pigs 40s. to 445., equal to 52d. per lb. Only a limited number of store pigs came forward. For the smaller eorts the market was a, shade easier than at the previous snle. LaTge stores made 4Cis. to 483. 6d. (a line of 53 changing hands at the latter price); medium, £'<ss. to 353.; srnail sorts. 16s. to 21s. Sows in'pig realised £4 35., to £4 10s.; wcahers, 12s. to 17s. BURNSIDE STOCK PRICES. Dunodin, September 25. At Burnside to-day 130 fat cattlo were yardod. The quality throughout was fairI ly good, and competition being keen prices I showed a rise of about £1 per head on last week's rates. Extra prime; to £16 17s. i 6d.; good, £14 lk. to £15 ss. 6d.; medium, , £11 10s, to £12 los. • , , . i Fat sheep: 2870 were penned, this constituting a medium yarding. The majority ; of the entry consisted of medium quality wethers with only a few pens of ewc3. There were not many pen 3 of heavy sheep. A total clearance was effected under keen competition, prices showing a rase of Is/ to Is. fid. per head on late rates for primo quality. Extra heavy wethers made to 3J$. 6d.; good, 245. to 265.; medium, 21s. to 225. 6d.; others, 16s. 9d. to 205.; medium ewes, 19s. 6d. to 20s. 6d.; others, 15s. 9d. to 18s. Lambs: 18 penned. These were the first of tho season, and sold from 183, to *.95., according to age and quality. 4 Pigs: There was a big' yarding of suckers and stores. Suckcrs, 14s. to 175.; shr®, to, 24s.;"stores, to 305.; porkers, 39-5. to 445.; light baconers, to 675.; heavy baconers, to 70s. '
