TASAUN AND MOUTERE INIJiT GROWERS. A well-attended meeting of the Tasman and Moutero Inlet' Fruitgrowers' Association was held last week. _ On the completion of the routine business tho association was treated to an address by Sir. T. W. Kirk, Director of the Orchards and Gardens Division of the Agricultural Department, on the subject of "If, Tot Knots, or Crown (jail of the Apple." Muuy specimens of diseased trees were exhibited, and extracts from the opinions of the leading scientists of America, Australia, and New Zealand were read. At the conclusion of the meeting the following resolution was carried unanimously:— "That tliis meeting thanks tho Orchards Division of tho Department of Agriculture for its prompt and energetic action in slopping tho distribution of diseased fruit trees, particularly thoso attacked by > root knot, and is of opinion that a strict supervision should bo exercised in futuro over all nursery stock, whether imported or produced locally, and trusts thnt. exhaustive experiments will be carried out by tho Department to test the amount of iajury caused by planting trees attacked to. root knot, croyn gall, or haiij root," Li
