EFFORT TO RAISE £250,000. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Rec. September 25, 10 p.m.) London, September 25. The Duke of Westminster, Mr. George Wyndham, M.P., Sir Francis Trippel, and others are organising a .£250,000 fund on behalf of/ Imperial preference and tariff reform. The founders of the fund, at a dinner, subscribed .£21,250, including I JCSOOO from the Duk» of Bedford, and JEIOOO apieco from sixteen others. Sir 'Francis Trippel was formerly proprietor of a military college at Richmond. O)! late years he has assisted in organising the following campaigns:—Union Jack Club Fund, Olympic Games Fund, London Cabmen Fund, Territorial Recruiting for County of I/mdon Fund, Dr. Mawson's Antarctic Exploration Fund, King "Edward VII Memorial Fund. He has also promoted numbers of funds privately, the •total approximating ,£300,000 in 1908-11.
