RE DRESS CHARTS. LITIGANT'S CASE BREAKS DOWN. (Bj Tolcsraph.—Press Association.) Palmerston, September 24. An unusual case occupied Mr. Thompson, S.M., yesterday, when Miss L. Roberts, patenteo of the Imperial Dressmaking -System, sued the head of tho Palmerston Convent of Mercy for JE9 35., which she alleged to bo balance due" for charts of her system. The hearing bad been twice adjourned on application of the plaintiff. Plaintiff claimed that she had given lessons to Sisters in the Convent, and they had agreed to take one dozen charts for. £l\ 53. '

The defence was that the undertaking had been to pay two guineas for a lesson, and to take one chart. The Convent hail paid two guineas for this. Plaintiff had endeavoured to insist on defendants taking a dozen charts, but the Convent had refused to accept delivery, anil, on plaintiff declaring that she would "expose them" if they .did not take these charts, the head of the Convent declined to have anything further to do with her. The Court found for defendants (the Convent), with, costs' against plaintiff,-' and solicitor's fee. Sir. Gifford Moore appeared for plaintiff and Mr. Jacobs for defendants.-
