LOSS OF A BRITISH STEAMER,

By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyright London, September 23. The Board of Trade, which .has held an inquiry into the loss of the North Briton, attributes the loss to insufficient freeboard. Tho Board of Trado recommends that inquiry be made with a view to revision of rules altered in 1906.

The North Briton, was owned by Messrs. Gibbs and Leo, of Cardiff, and was asteamer of 2157 tons, built in 1892, and valued at JE15.000. She left Sunderland for Sulina on February 29 last, and was not' afterwards heard of; She was registered 100 Al at Lloyd's.
