A QUESTION OF FACTS.
LIVELY INTERCHANGE. There was a lively interchange in the Houso of Representatives last evening between Sir Joseph 'Ward (Awnrua) and Mr. Bell (Wellington Suburbs) over n question of facts. "It is a world-wide patent used on Ui'ltish ships of war," said the member for Awarua, in regard to the Teiefunken wireless system. Mr. Dell; Which oue? The I'rimo Minister: I do not think so. Sir Joseph Ward: It is controlled to a very large extent by British people. It is on ships of war. Mr. Bell: British? Sir Joseph Ward; I nm not here to answer questions. (Laughter.) I know what lam talking about. Marconi is one ot the directors of the British Telel'uuken system. , "He is not," Mr. Bell interjected. "You aro quite wrong." Sir Joseph AYnrd: It is a British Company—so far as I know . (Laughter.) Later, the Hon. R. H. Rhodes informed the House that; the British Government and the British Navy did not use any but the Marconi system.
