THE UNION C.C; MEETING. The thirteenth annual meeting of the Union Cricket Club, playing under tho auspices of the Wednesday Association, was held last evening, Mr. C. M'Gill presiding. • The annual report and balance-sheet ircre read and adopted. The report stated that the past season had proved tho most successful in the history of the club, both senior and junior teams proving successful in their respective competitions. Tho success of the junior team was tho more noteworthy as this eleven had been last on tho list fpr tho previous year. Three members of' the club—Me:.'rs. Tassie, Coleman, and Sauverin—had left Wellington, and their services would be much missed. The. results of the season's play were:—Seniors: Flayed S matches; wou 6; lost '1; championship points, 2i. Juniors: Played 8 matches; w.on 7; lost 1; championship points, 2S. The batting average in the senior eleven was secured by C. M'Gill, with an average of 55.5, aiid the bowling by A". Harris with an average of 8.1 runs per wicket. The junior, batting was headed by A. J. Williamson (21.0). and the bowling by A. J. Coleman (7.1o). T. Taylor won Mr. Trickett's trophy for the best senior fielding, and A,,C- Tassio for best'junior. C. M'Gill and W. Warno were awarded medals for scoring centuries, and A..Williamson and A. Coleman for scores of over 70. and E. Cohen for taking nine wickets in an innings. With n view to raising funds tho club had'come to an arrangement, with Messrs. West for a benefit performance at tho King's Theatre, and it was hoped to raise a. considerable sum by this means.

The balance-sheet shoWsd'a cash balance of £2 6s.

Thanks for donations ami other benefits were accorded to Mrj. Clonic Messrs. J. C Trictett, T. Palmer,. A. Bolton, W. ■J. JorseiLion, .T. Mulford, J. Bonnor, H. I.angdon. Trogear and Taylor, West'?, Ltd., and Mr. Arrait. Mr. Taylor's cup for all round play was awarded to Mr. W. Warno.

The following office-bearers were elected :—President, Mr. J. C. Triekett: vicepresidents, Messrs. A. Bolton, J. O'Brien, AV. ,1. Jorsouson, H. Lnngdon, Fnirbairn, M. Mitehinson, Jas. Macdonald. C. T. Emerv, T. Palmer. Lieut. Herd, A. Wallin?. I'. Shields, T. O'Sullivan: secretary and treasurer, Mr. A. J. Williamson: management committee. Messrs. Mulford, O'Sullivan ■ and Williamson; selection committee, Mews. T. Tnvlor. C. M'Gill, and .T. J. O'Sullivan j junior selectors. A. J. Williamson and E. E. Cohen; deleprates to AA'odnesdny Association, J. J. O'Sullivan, J. Mulford, and A. J. Williamson. It was decided to enter one senior and •one junior team this year, and also to open with a practice at Kilbirnie on AA'edno»dav. October 2. ' Mcsd-unes Trickett. M'Gill. and Closgie and Miss Stewart, and Mr. Bert Jacobs were elected honorary members.

The delegates to the" association wero recommended to attempt to secure some modification of Hie rule respecting the »liiilnlitv of Saturday players to play on AVednc'day.'

TEAM TO VISIT ZEALAND. By Tclesrraph— Press Association—Conrrieht (Rec. September 24, 0.20 a.m.) Melbourne, September 21. The South Melbourne Cricket Club is sending a team of its first eleven players to Xew Zealand at the end of the year.
