BOWLS.

OPENING OF THE SEASON. Most of the city bowling greens are looking very well, and with a normal amount of fine weather should be in good condition for the opening of the season. Tho ICarori Club has decided to open its green on Saturday next. On October 5, the Wellington Club will declare its greens open, and the following Saturday (October 12) tho Thorndon green will be made free to players.
