WAR STORM RUMOURS.
v — SOME DENIALS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Rec. September 23, 11.35' p.m.) Sydney, September 23. The inferences as to the imminence of war drawn from tho Gazette notice to mariners, as to the possibility of inspection by an examining steamer at British ports, are considered in many quarters to be idle. The Navigation Department denies that tho.notice indicates tho immediate laying of mines. The managers of two German lines also declare the story of extra coal supplies is absurd so far as their lines arc concerned.
