FOXTON & ITS FIRES.
TWO SHOPS TOTALLY BUKNT, (By Telegraph.—Press taoclation.) Palmerston N., September 23. There was another blaze at Fordou yesterday morning, when two shops were completely destroyed, namely, Y. Dimmer's storo and a Chinese fruiterer's shop. llimmer's was an old but largo building, and was well ablaze when discovered. The fire soon spread to the Chinese shop, which was gutted. Why'o's Hotel, menaced by two previous fires, was again in trouble, but though the walls were scorched and the windows cracked, no ftirthor damage was done. The insurances are:—Riinmer's store, in the New Zealand office, .£250; Riinmer's stock, in the New Zealand office, .£750; Chung Wall's building, .£BSO in the South British office; plate glass, < .£3(l in (be South British; Chung Wall's slock, in the London and Lancashire, J2GOO. Total, .£2IBO. " '
