CRICKET.
CENTRAL CLUB'S REPORT. • The annual report of the Wellington Central Cricket Club says that the distinction of winning the championship again fell to the senior team, this being the- second time'since the inception of the district scliomo three seasons ago. In the junior division the club's representatives wero a)so successful, being runners-up to the St. Mark's Club in that competition. The oommitee regrets that tho efforts of the third eleven, for various reasons, wero not so successful, but hopes that sufficient enthusiasm will be shown this season to place this grado on a par with the senior division. The mombers of the club are indebted to tho following for tlioir kindness in presenting trophies: Mr. TT. C. Hickson, Mr. C. C. J. Bay, and Mr. C. M. Bay. The thanks of tho club are also tendered to the following for donations and financial assistance: Messrs. Hood, Pigeon, Bay, Burbidge, Collins, Ward, Gray, Kirkcaldie, OsDOrno, St. George, and the late Mr. Schlaadt. The committee desires to especially thank Mr. K. W. Bur. bulge for his services as chairman of com. mittees, nnd Mr. C. C. J. Bay for his untiring efforts on behalf of tfie club, particularly in connection with tho third eleven. The committco desires to congratulate Ihe following players who obtained representative honours Inst season: Messrs.. Robinson, Beechcy, Naughton, Blamires, Hickson, Jackson, Little, and Paterson. The committee is again desirous of placing on record the valuable eervicos as scorer rendered to tho club by Mr. W. S. Hood. On perusing 'the balance-sheet, members will note that the club is in a much better position now than it was in at the closo of tho previous season. The club's funds were considerably augmented by the proceeds of a picture entertainment held last December, with tho result that tlio liabilities were considerably reduced. However, the committee urges all members to co-operato with the incoming committee to place the club in a bettor position than it occupies at present. ' Tho balance of profit on the , season's working amounts to .£l3 2s. Bd., and the balance of assets over liabilities is set down as £3 9s. lid.
