AN AI'I'EAL FOll IMiMEF. A deputation of Ttiialili soltlers, consisting of Messrs. Epps, Lennard, and Atkinson, interviewed the Hon. W. V. Massey on Saturday, in his capacity as Minister lor Lands, to nsk lor a reduction in Iho upset prices of their lands, which am occupied on Die optional I enure. Mr. E. Newman, M.1 , ., introduced the deputation. It was staled that the lands of Iho Huatiti settlers, even when they carried landing hush, were valued at £2 Bs. an acre. There was practically no road access to those lands, nnd settlers found it impossible to wise money either publicly or privately, with which to develop their lands on account of the high values. The members of tlio deputation iiu'itod 'Mr. Alassey to visit their distrjet.
The Prime Minister gave u sympathetic reply, and promised to consider liie renreKontntions which had been advanced when the land Bill came down.
