SUPERINTENDENT GLEN'S IDEA. The Reserves Committee of the City Council reported to tho council last night:— • "That tho superintendent of reserves (Mr. Glen) has intimated to tho committee that he considers it inadvisable to use the Basin Reserve for cricket or sports this season, and that on no condition should the Reserve ba available .before tho New Year." . Tho adoption of the report was agreed 'upon, it being, however, clearly understood that this did not tie the hands of [the council regarding tho uso of the 'Reserve this season.
