Wedding at Waipawa, j A quiet but very pretty wedding took j place in St. Peter's Cnurcfl, Waipawa, on ; Tuesday, when Miss Florence Maud. , Green, "eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. - John Green, of Patangata, liawke's Bay, 'was married to Jlr. David Buick, .only son of Jlr. D. Buick, M.l'., Palmerston Isorth. The Rev. H. P. Cowx officiated. The bride, who was given away by hei ■. father, ,wore a gown of white China silk, trimmed with silk lace and orange bios- . sons. She/also wore a wreath and veil, olid carried a shower bouquet of spring flowers. Miss Alice Green (sister) ana Jliss Lilian Buick -(sister of the bridegroom) were the bridesmaids, the formei wearing a dress of cream voile trimmed with silk braid and a large picture hat, and Jliss Buick a pretty frock of . embroidered Indian muslin and a white tagel picture hat. Both carried bouquets, the gift'of the bridegroom. Jliss Rua 'King was also in attendance as a flowei' girl. Jlr. Hubert Pitch, of Wellington, was the best man, and the groomsman Jlr. Edgar Mason groomsman. Feilding Wedding. At St. John's Church, Feilding, the ' marriage took . place on Wednesday cf Miss Ruby Dorothy Fowles, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. R. Fowles, of Feilding, to Jlr. William Nasmitli, of Palmerston.- The ceremony was performed,by the Rev. Innes-Jones. The bride, who' was given away .by"'her father, wore a cream costume and large black hat trimmed with pink roses and black.tulle wings. Jliss T. Fowles (sister) was her bridesmaid, and wore a cream frock trimmed' with tucked ribbon , and buttons. Her gift from the bridegroom was a gold brooch set with rubies and pearls. Mr. G. Dellbridge was the best man. New Lady Superintendent of the Auckland Hospital. ■ Miss 1 Orr, of Taunton Hospital, England, has been appointed lady superintendent of the Auckland Hospital. The chairman of the board (Jlr. H. Schofield) explained to last evening's meeting that Jliss Orr had been recommended by the board's agent at Homc.V After consultation with the chairman of • 'the honorary medical staff (Dr. Pabst), Mr. Schofield added that he had cabled Homo accepting Jliss Orr, who had been for five years matron of the Taunton Hospital, and who, when at. Guy's Hospital, London, was night sister and housekeeper. Jliss Orr, he added, also held Guy's Hospital certificates in maternity, fever, and massage. . The chairman's action was endorsed. Madame De Cisneros. At her second concert, held in the Opera House last-evening, Jladame de Cisneros was a striking and commanding looking figuro in a beautiful gown of pale blue charmeuso veiled with chifi'on and over it a. saree drape of blue net interwoven with shining aquamarine-like jewels. 7llls overdress appeared to merge at the edges into ■ gold lace, which was also carried over tho long train. On the left side of the- skirt was a panel of exquisite lace, and lace also draped one side of the bodice which was finished at the back with a triangular motif of black velvet, in strong relief to the l'ace and jewelled net. with which it was composed at the back. On her hair she wore a bandeau of jet with upstanding black osprey plumes.

Funeral of the late Mrs. J. B. Finlay, The funeral of Hie laic Miv. J. Dr. Clibb, who had returned from Christchurch that morning in order to he present, conducted a .-liori service and a favourite hymn of the deceased lady, "Fight the Good Fight," was .sung. Finlay, Many floral remembrances were received, a special carriage convoying them to the Karori Cemetery, where the interment took place. Dr. Giblj again ofiiciated at the graveside, and was assisted by the Kev. J. Inghs, of Khandallah. Jlucli sympathy has been expressed |or Jlr. Finlay and family in their loss and a voto of sympathy was passed by the Now Zealand Club on Wednesday. Dance at Mangaweka. At Mangaweka recently a most successful complimentary ball was given for the Hockey Club and friends by Jlr. •T. Georgetti (chairman of the "Town Board) and Mrs. Georgetti. The gathering included visitors from all over tho Hangitikei district, as well as from Wanganui and Wellington, and was one of the largest ever held in the district. Telegrams apologising for inability to be present were received from Messrs. E. Newman, II P., and K. W. Smith, M.P., and many others whose duties necessitated their absence. The Oddfellows' Hall was beautifully decorated for the occasion, with greenery and bunting, and presented a moat attractive spectacle, particularly the stage. Tho floor received special attention, and was in excellent order. Music was supplied by Carter's Orchestra and extras by the Misses G. Humphrey, Moon, E. Dumbleton, M. Kodewalu, and Mr. W._ M'Grath. Messrs. H. S. Harris, A. Dalziell, I!. Crowther, and J. Peacock proved most efficient M.C.'a. Supper was in the hands of Mr. G. Herdegen and four sitting-out rooms were set aside for it. In the course of the evening Mr. H. K. Harris, on behalf of tho Hockey Club presented Jlr. Georgetti with a hand-somely-framed photograph of the team which has won the shield this season, and, accompanied the gift, with a brief speech eulogistic of the recipient and his sportsmanlike instincts. Jlr. Georgetti' suitably responded, and was greeted with cheers and the singing of "He's a Jolly Good Fellow." Dancing was kept up till the early morning. .
