MARTON FIRE.
ABOUT .£SOO DAMAGE DONE. (By Telegraph.—Press AtEodfttton.l Marton, September 17. The Junction Hotel, Marton, owned' by Robert Hunt, had a narrow escape from destruction by fire at 2.30 o'clock this morning. The billiard saloon, owned by Mr. Hunt, aud leased by A. W. Hurst, together with the contents of a hairdrcssing saloon and tobacconist shop, was totally destroyed; also a .wash-house, storeroom and contents, adjacent to the hotel. The hotel was saved by thc«offorts of the stationma-ster and liis staff. Tho hotel was insured for ,£1500; the damage 'is estimated at about .£SOO. The billiardroom, etc., were valued at JClflfl, and were insured for ,£250. Mr. Hurst had a policy on his stock, in the Guardian office," of .£l5O.
