THE TRACK OF THE STORM.
GLAZIERS MUCH' IN BEQUEST. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Auckland, September 16. Considerable damage was done on Saturday evening by one of Hie most serious thunderstorms'experienced in Auckland for some years. The downpour was accompanied by a hailstorm which sounded on the houses like a discharge of musketry, smashed windows,. qncl ruined gardens. The track of the storm' was easily traced this morning, and the glazier was much in request. Glass houses suffered very'much. Some of' the stones were reported to be as large as pigeon eggs. The suddenness and volume of the downpour caused many small floods in the city and suburbs. At a restaurant down town, where the hail had evidently blocked the gutters, the rain poured through' tho roof, and in the rooms was to be seen the unusual spectacle of people supping with their umbrellas up to escape, tho water streaming through the roof. During the - height of the electrical disturbance the telephone communication with the oentral bureau wa~s interrupted, fc. thins which has not happened iu Auckland before.
