INTRUDER KNOCKED SENSELESS. By TelcEraph—Press Association—Copjrieht Sydney, September 13. A, resident at Par!inghurst,,;hcaring a burglar, awaited him at the entrance, knocked him senseless, and then handed him over to the police. ACTIVITY IN MELBOURNE. Melbourne, September 13. Burglars continue active. A hotel and two houses wero robbed on Wednesday night, and attempts were made to enter two shops. A SUSPICIOUS VISITOR. (Eec. September 13, 11 p.m.) Sydney, September 13. 'X well dressed man, dlainiing to be an insurance inspector, was .allowed by a feuburban postmaster to. inspect the rear of J:ho post office promises. On going out later, the postmaster discovered tho visitor sketching tho rear of the pretaises of the Commercial Bank branch next door. The visitor mumbled an excuse, and decamped. The police believe his description tallies with that of a supposed safe-breaker, who has been operating in the city.
