CRICKET. ■ ♦— MR, A. A, GEORGE'S PROPOSAL. SUPPORT GROWING. (By Telegraph.—Press jScSoeiatfon.) ■ Dunedin, Septemlicr 13. A meeting of the Otago Cricket Association wns/held this evening to consider the question of a visit from a Melbourne midweek team. Mr. A. A. George, of Wellington, wrote stating that in the tenm there would.be eight or nine first-gra<le men, these including I'rott, Scott, l'acey, M'Cormick, Pentland, and Kinny, and two or three champions—possibly- Laver and Noble. It was decided to offer tho team £60, ot two-thirds of the net proceeds oi the gate for a three days' match, provided the first or second day be a Saturday.
