I . (I)}' Telegraph.— Special Correspondent.) Palnwston, September H. A small fire occurred al (he Manuwolu Heat Company's shop in the Square Ihis morniiifr. It appears thai an attendant had left the smokehouse door open, and the fire had extended to the wall. The Wazci, however, was extingui-hed with a hand hose. The Mannwatu' Horticultural Society'* bulb show was opened by the Mayor this afternoon. The display is thought to constitute the, best sprint: exhibition which the society has yet held.
