KLAUS DEFEATS MOREAU. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Paris, September 9. Krank Klaus, middle-weight, champion boxer of the world, beat Marcel Morean, a French middle-weight, at Aix-lcs-Bains. Klaus almost knocked out Morean in the second and fourth rounds. Ho had all the better of the fighting until Moreau was disqualified for low hitting. BOXING. OPERA HOUSE-COMING EVENTS. The Wellington Boxing Association is offering an excellent programme for the tournament which is to be held on Monday next at tho Opera House. Tho meeting of Hagerty, the New Zealand champion, and Burns, a leading Australian feather-weight, wears all the aspect of being a very important contest. . The holder of the title is well known in Australasia. As an amateur he has won both the feather-weight and the light-weight championships of Australia, and has an unbeaten record as a professional. Burns has gained a reputation in Australia, and is in the front rank in his class. In addition to the big event, three amateur preliminaries aro provided for, from which exciting boxing is likely. Tho box plan will be open at Armit's on Thursday morning.
