Weddings at Petone, A pretty wedding took place at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. E. F, Moore, Hutt Road, Petone, on Wednesday, when Miss Elsie May Moore was married to Mr. Edwin John Carter, eldest sou of Mr. and Mrs. J. Carter, of Eketahuna. The Rev. A. Thompson performed the ceremony. The bride- wore a gown of white eolienne, trimmed with Lice, and the usual veil aud orange blossoms, and carried a shower bouquet. Miss Carter (sister of the bridegroom) was her bridesmaid, and wore a gown of cream crystalline. A tiuy girl, Miss Edna Harris, was also in attendance, and wore white embroidered muslin. Mr. Chas. Moore was the best man, and Mr. T. Carter groomsman. Mrs. Moore (the bride's mother) was in a costume of navy blue, and Mrs.Carter was also in dark blue. Among the presents received by the bride and bridegroom was an engraved silver teapot from St. David.s Church choir and a case of silver salt sellers from the members of the Cinderella Club.

Last Tuesday afternoon the marriage of Miss Ruby May Schumacher, daughter of Mr. A. Schumacher, of Ohristehurch, to Mr. Arthur Nankivel, son of Mr. R. J. Nankivell, of Jackson Street, Petone, took place in the Baptist Church, Petone. The Rev. P.. Wainwright conducted the service. The bridesmaids were Miss 11.I 1 . E. Nankivell, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss A. of Christchurch. Mr. H. J. Nankivell attended as best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at Godb'er's,-Wellington, and tide usual toasts honoured.

Hastings' Wedding. On Wednesday the marriage' took place at the -Catholic, Church, Hastings, of Miss Hilda 1 Nielson, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs; Niolson, of Tom'oana, and' Mr. Edward Dwyer, sixth"son.of the late Mr. John Dwyer, of Wh-angara and Auckland. The Rev. Father Keogh'performed the ceremony. Miss Agues Farrellv was the bridesmaid, and Mr. Claud Bishop best man. The.guests wore afterwards entertained at the residence of Mrs. Henderson, and later the bride and bridegroom left for Auckland,

i A Napier Wedding. The marriage took place at Napier on Wednesday of Miss Dorothy . Turnbull, daughter of Mr. F. Turnbull, of Kereru, to Mr. Frank B. Logan, eldest son of Mr. F. Logan, of Napier. The ceremony took place in St. John's Cathedral, which had been beautifully decorated for the occasion by friends of the bride. The Rev. Canon Mayne officiated, and Mr. G. Horace Weber played the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of cream satin trimmed with Brussels lace and pearl embroidery. A wreath of orange blossoms caught in the long tulle veil and she carried a largo shower bouquet. Miss C. Graham, of Dunedin, wearing a pretty gown of white satin, with a cream net overdress, trimmed with tiny roses, and a cream straw hat, wreathed with the same kind of flowers, was her bridesmaid. Mr. E. Woodbine-Johnson, of Gisborne, was the best man. At the conclusion' of the ceremony, a number of friends and relatives were entertained at the wedding breakfast, which was held at the residence of Mr. Ivan Logan, and later the bride and bridegroom left for toe south, the former travelling in a cream silk poplin coat and skirt and pretty lace blouse, with hat to match. The bridegroom's present to his bride was a gold bracelet ivatch, and to the bridesmaid was given a gold curb bracelet.

The "Australasian" announces the engagement of Mr. George Stewart, youngest son of Mrs. Meredith, Orui, Elphin Road, Launceston (formerly of Riversdale, Whareama. New Zealand), and Ethel Nancy, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Roxburgh, Bank of Australasia, Launceston. Mrs. C. Jackson, Dryerton, is visiting Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. H. H.Beetham, "Branccpeth/' are visiting Wellington.
