NEW GUINEA NATIVES ARRESTED. By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyright Sydney, September 5. The German steamer Coblenz, which has arrived here from German New Guinea, reports that the natives recently plotted the massacre of tho whole of the white population of Friedrich Wilhelmshafen. The plot was in revenge for the punishment of several natives for murdering a white resident. > The conspiracy leaked out, and the ringleaders were arrested with the assistance oMhe native police, who remained loyal. The rank and file then lost confidence, and abandoned the plot. The Coblenz conveyed sixteen of the conspirators to Rabaul, where they were sentenced to various terms of imprisonment with hard labour.
